Toyota's Certified Pre-Owned program starts with a 160-point inspection that includes a CARFAX Vehicle History Report. Factory-trained Toyota technicians perform a road test looking for unusual driving attributes, and then examine the structure, under hood components and electrical/mechanical systems checking for required maintenance or defects. Appearance assessments of the exterior, interior, engine compartment and truck are completed, and repairs occur as required. When applicable, gas-electric hybrid, 4WD and advanced options (sunroof, navigation) systems are inspected.
To qualify for Certified Pre-Owned status, a Toyota must be no more than seven years old and not exceed 85,000 miles. A three-month/3,000-mile comprehensive warranty is implemented from the date of certified purchase and covers defective parts that fail during normal use. A seven-year/100,000-mile Limited Powertrain Warranty is valid from the date the vehicle was originally purchased new, as is a seven-year/100,000-mile 24-hour Roadside Assistance plan.
